The route unfolds between the territories of Tarquinia and Blera, discovering the tradition of oil production.
The first stop of the tour is at the National Etruscan Museum of Tarquinia, where the theme of the visit will be related to various types of oil-related containers (oil lamps, ointment jars, containers for storage and food use) and the decorative elements of the wall paintings of the painted tombs of the necropolis, which are preserved in a special exhibition area.
At theValle del Marta agritourism farm, where the experience will also take place, there will be a visit to the farm's olive grove and direct experience in the field, depending on the season of the year: olive harvesting, tree pruning, care and defence against pests, etc. Finally, the route concludes with visits to theOlitar oil mill in Tarquinia and the Colli Etruschi oil mill in Blera, where the first part of the day is spent milling and pressing the olives, followed by the bottling and storage of the parcels ready to be shipped to the points of sale.
The experience ends with a guided oil tasting.
