Thermal waters were already known and used by the Etruscans, but it was with the Romans that they became enormously popular, given the richness of the area that boasts one of the most abundant hydrothermal basins in Italy, with waters rich in sulphur salts and calcium bicarbonate.
The route proposes a journey to discover wellness and relaxation in this area by placing the ancient Taurine Thermal Baths in parallel with the current thermal facilities where it will be possible to enjoy the wellness centre with natural treatments. The route winds its way from the Terme di Stigliano (Canale Monterano), a structure built near the woods and the Caldara di Manziana, passing through Civitavecchia characterised by the presence of the Terme Taurine and the more recent Ficoncella baths, ending in the area of the municipality of Montalto di Castro at the Terme di Vulci.
