In the centre of the archaeological area is the plateau of S. Giuliano where the Etruscan settlement stood, defended by steep cliffs and streams and surrounded by lush nature and vast necropolises.
BRIEF HISTORICAL NOTES
It was inhabited continuously from the Bronze Age until the late Middle Ages and was the main Etruscan settlement in the area, as demonstrated by the considerable archaeological evidence found there.
