A tour to discover some of the most evocative places of Montalto di Castro, from the village, to the marina up to the marvelous archaeological jewels of the Vulci Archaeological and Naturalistic Park.
Starting from the center of the village of Montalto di Castro, a delightful medieval city in the heart of the Maremma Laziale made up of small squares, alleys dominated by arches, and city walls, you pedal under the Orsini Castle, a 15th century work that dominates the center, and crossing the streets of the town, you reach Montalto Marina on the seafront, one of the most beautiful green flag beaches on the Tyrrhenian coast.
It then moves towards Vulci, an ancient Etruscan city located between the territory of Montalto di Castro and Canino, crossing dirt roads with small asphalt connections. An excursion within the Archaeological Naturalistic Park of Vulci is a must, with a visit to the necropolis and the Pellicone lake.
The ride continues towards the Abbadia Castle, seat of the National Archaeological Museum of Vulci and reachable from the Devil's bridge which gives an exclusive panoramic point from which to admire the splendid landscape of the Fiora river valley.
Return to Montalto di Castro through other dirt roads and short stretches of asphalt with passage from the path of the brigands.
