With this experience, guests will visit the Poggio Ranocchio vineyard, also mentioned by the Latin writer and historian Pliny the Elder, and the NUMA distillery, observing all the production phases up close: from the entry of the raw material, to ageing in French oak barrels.
The tour will end with a tasting of brandies from the famous label NUMA, which can then be purchased at the agri-emporium of the Valle del Marta. From September 2023 a new cycle of activities for the cruise passengers who get yearly to the Port of Civitavecchia will begin.
This solution is ideal for cruise passengers looking for a unique experience. For this tour, it is also possible to add transfers to/from the port by the Valle del Marta’s private shuttlebus up to 8 seats.
These activities, conceived as a valid alternative to the more traditional ones (e.g., a day trip to Rome), will take place in a setting immersed in the green countryside of Etruria, the “Valle del Marta” farm in Tarquinia (15 minutes from the port).
In particular, the tour consists of a visit to the NUMA distillery – a brandy who won 20 times the San Francisco World Spirits Competition –, the first in Italy of its kind. The tour will focus on the production of liqueurs and distillates according to ancient traditions.
