The municipality of Ladispoli was already inhabited in Etruscan times, but the first records of the city of Alsium date back to 247 B.C., the year in which the entire surrounding territory was taken from the Etruscans by the Romans.
Due to the strategic importance of these ports, the Etruscan settlements were replaced by military camps, then by actual castra (fortified cities) and finally, by huge villas owned by important families of Republican and Imperial Rome.
The route proposes a voyage of discovery of all those ancient elements still present in the area, starting from Torre Flavia, passing through the Odescalchi Castle and arriving at the Necropolis of Monteroni.
