From Vulci to Villa Giulia – The Route of the Heroes is the new combined ticket bringing together Vulci Archaeological Park and the National Etruscan Museum of Villa Giulia in a single journey of discovery. An invitation to explore the heart of Etruria before continuing the journey through the collections of Villa Giulia, following a thread that connects landscape and museum, places and artefacts, archaeology and storytelling.
Two places, one journey to enjoy at your own pace
The journey can begin in Vulci, among the remains of one of the great cities of Etruria, or in Rome, in the galleries of the National Etruscan Museum of Villa Giulia.
There is no set order.
The ticket is activated when you visit the first of the two sites and, from that date, remains valid for one year, giving you one admission to the National Etruscan Museum of Villa Giulia and one admission to Vulci Archaeological Park.
Plenty of time to create your own itinerary and discover the other chapter of the story days or even months later.
The Route of the Heroes
On one side is Vulci: its landscape, ancient city, necropolises and the traces of a civilisation that profoundly shaped the history of pre-Roman Italy.
On the other is Villa Giulia: the museum dedicated to the Etruscan and Italic civilisations, where artefacts and masterpieces offer an insight into the societies, myths and culture of ancient Etruria.
The Route of the Heroes was born from the encounter between these two worlds.
The new combined ticket is the result of an agreement between the National Etruscan Museum of Villa Giulia and the Fondazione Vulci, created to connect Etruria’s cultural heritage and make it easier to discover the places where its history is preserved and brought to life.
Not two separate visits, then, but two perspectives in dialogue with one another.
From Vulci to Rome, and from Rome to Vulci
Following the Route of the Heroes means allowing archaeology itself to create the connections.
At Vulci, the story unfolds across the landscape; at Villa Giulia, it continues through the artefacts preserved in the museum.
The result is a journey between past and present, revealing the richness of a civilisation through both the places where its people once lived and those where its legacy is now preserved, interpreted and shared.
